Earlier in the year, three teams from Years 7 and 8 collaborated for the Kid’s Cancer Project Write a Book in a Day Competition. Teams had just 12 hours to write and illustrate an original book based on key parameters. Completed books are uploaded to a digital library for children in hospitals to enjoy and raises funds for vital medical research.

We are very excited to announce that one of our teams, Two to the Power of Eight, won the Highly Commended award for the VIC/TAS/SA Middle Years division for their book City Lights.

An incredible achievement, we are so proud of everyone involved! You can read more about the Write a Book in a Day competition and Mitre program at Korowa in this news update.

Principal, Helen Carmody said, “This result is a culmination of the past few years of innovative work in the areas of philosophy, gifted and talented, and extension and enrichment opportunities at Korowa.”

Well done to Two to the Power of Eight and Miss Alicia Mein, Head of Year 7 and Gifted and Talented Coordinator who supported the students and organised this event at Korowa!
