Congratulations to our 2020 Dux, Hilary Zhu.
A dedicated student, Hilary received numerous Academic Awards, along with the 2020 Award for Excellence in Languages, the Roslyn Otzen Colours Award, and the 2020 Margaret McPherson Medal, which acknowledged her sustained commitment to the Music Program at Korowa. In addition, Hilary was also awarded the 2020 Caltex Best All-Rounder which is presented to a Year 12 student who has shown a commitment to doing her best in all pursuits and has been an outstanding role model to her peers and others.
Over her time at Korowa Hilary was awarded several Academic Awards, Music Awards, and the Cripps Prize for Dux of Year 11, along with Colours in Sports, Social Service, Rowing, Music and Wilkinson House.
Mrs Helen Carmody, Korowa’s Principal, said “We are incredibly proud that Hilary is our 2020 Dux. She represents all that Korowa is; a true all-rounder, not only has she achieved this incredible ATAR today but she has really contributed to the School Community – as a leader, in music and sport. We wish her every success and happiness for the future”.
Over the year Hilary has participated in various co-curricular activities such as Badminton, Concert Band, Cricket, Cripps Choir, Da Capo Band, Netball, Cross Country, Tennis, Hockey, Soccer, Triathlon, Track and Field, Wind Symphony, Korale, Rowing, Meta Fitness and Pilates. A true leader, Hilary has occupied many positions of responsibility including being a member of the Environmental Committee, an Open Day Ambassador, Social Service Representative, Advisory Group Representative, Senior School House Captain and an Environment Committee member.
