This year we are thrilled to announce the introduction of a General Excellence Sport Scholarship  available for entry into Year 7 in 2022 to girls who demonstrate strong sporting ability in one or more sports, at a State or National level. This is being offered for the first time to celebrate the opening of our new Sports and Wellbeing Centre in early 2022.

Sport has always played an important role at Korowa, bringing together students regardless of their ability to participate in a range of sports. Students have the opportunity to compete in a broad range of sports from rowing to netball, triathlon, snowsports, athletics, swimming and more.  It is a great way to make friends and try something new.

Korowa has a long history of educating outstanding sportspeople including two Korovians who recently competed in the Tokyo Olympics. Olympic Bronze Medallist, Rowena Webster (Class of 2005), Captain of the Australian Women’s Water Polo Team and third time Olympian, and Jenna Strauch (Class of 2015) as part of Australia’s Swimming Team. Other athletes of note include Hannah Macdougall (Class of 2005), a former world record holder and former Captain of the Australia Women’s Paralympic Swimming Team; Kate Richardson (Anderson, Class of 1991) who competed in the LA and Sydney Olympics as a 5000m runner and was a Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist in 1998; Kerry Duff (Engel, Class of 1983), Bronze Medallist at the London Paralympics in Swimming and Kate Seibold (Class of  1992) a current world champion in athletics in the 45+ category.

Over the last two years, we have had two of our rowing students receive full University Rowing Scholarships to study in the USA, most recently to the University of Central Florida.

In addition to our General Excellence Sport Scholarship, Academic, Music and General Excellence Scholarships are also available for entry in 2023.
